2010 U.S. Amateur Championship

Dates: August 23 – 29, 2010
 
Location:The 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship will be contested at Chambers Bay Golf Course, University Place, Washington. The assisting course will be the Home Course, Dupont, Washington.

Entries: Open to amateurs who have USGA Handicap Indexes not exceeding 2.4.
 
Sectional Qualifying: 36 holes stroke play, scheduled at approximately 101 sites, in late July, 2010 and early August, 2010.
 
Starting Field: 312 players
 
Format: Following two days of stroke play (August 23 and 24), the field of 312 players will be reduced to the lowest 64 scorers, who will advance to match play. All matches are scheduled for 18 holes except the final match. The scheduled 36-hole championship final match is Sunday, August 29.
 
Rain Policy: If it rains on any day of the championship, play will continue as long as it is deemed safe to do so.
 
Television: The 2010 U.S. Amateur Championship will be broadcast on NBC and the Golf Channel worldwide. Air times are to be determined and will be posted on this website when they become available.
 
Tickets: Tickets will be available summer 2009. Kids 17 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.
 
Volunteers: Approximately 400 volunteers will be needed to support the 2010 U.S. Amateur. Please complete the on-line volunteer application on this website to be considered.
 
Parking: Parking information, including maps and directions will be provided in the late spring of 2010. Please check back.
